Project Description

Site investigation, design, field testing and commissioning of materials and equipment for upgrades to the electrical power distribution systems at the Gisborne Powerhouse.

Scope of Work

The specific scope of the project includes the following elements:

Provided assistance in procuring major items of equipment required for this project including a new motor control centre, essential and non-essential power distribution panels and the associated lighting transformer. This item includes preparation of technical specifications, technical evaluation of bids, and review of shop drawings.
Provided instructions for reconfiguring the station service transformer windings.
Prepared a detailed design including equipment layout drawings, cable trench drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and power and control cabling schedules.
Provided engineering assistance during demolition and construction.
Developed an electrical testing and commissioning plan
Performed component testing for specific pieces of electrical equipment as required by NSPI.
Performed functional testing of equipment and systems for operation in accordance with the design.
Assisted with operational testing after energization.
